Wine History Tours was founded by Ken and Tamara Wytsma in 2021 with a vision to offer world-class, story-driven wine experiences rooted in place.

That vision was shaped by Ken’s background teaching history and philosophy, along with years of international travel as an award-winning author, speaker, and guide—experiences that cultivated a deep appreciation for how landscape, culture, and story converge in the world’s great wine regions. Today, that vision is carried forward by a team of expert guides with a singular focus: delivering exceptional hospitality and curating unforgettable days in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, while also offering select, periodic group trips to other storied wine regions around the world.

Our team brings deep industry experience, with each guide having served as a hospitality leader or educator within respected wineries. That collective background shapes how we design each tour—with intention, access, and a natural flow that allows guests to fully experience both the wines and the region behind them. Ken’s passion for history and wine education, paired with Tamara’s creative eye for hospitality and atmosphere, continues to inform everything we do.
